In this unit, you will add to your camera angle vocabulary by studying more angles that can be used to create a classic horror film. Look at the files and links below to learn about types of shots and movie terms. After you have a solid foundation and view an example, you will be ready to story board your own classic horror scene.

Before we begin our project, let's review green screen techniques!
When we get access to Youtube (fingers crossed), we will be able to use green screen techniques to make some very professional marketing films! In preparation of this, view my green screen tutorial first by clicking HERE. Green screen techniques will not be required for this assignments but we do have our own green screen for very basic effects if you would like to use it.
Easiest way to get greenscreen effects: Search for them on Youtube (for example "greenscreen ghost") and visit savemp3.net to enter the Youtube link. This site will convert the link to an mp4 video file so you can import into Premiere Pro. Pretty cool huh?

Project Description
You will have half of the Mon/Tue class to video scenes that are OFF OF THE 500 hall. Your Wed/Thur class will be for videoing ON THE 500 HALL. This gives you 1.5 classes to film as well as a day at home to film any extra scenes.
Video Requirements
It must be a minimum of 2.5 - 5 minutes (10 pts)
Tell a story without any of the characters speaking (10 pts)
Have sound for the entire movie (no silence). (10 pts)
Use at least 4 sound effects (10 pts)
Have a "dip to black" at the end of the movie.(5 pts)
Have a movie title (5 pts)
Contain at least 6 of the following camera angles (50 pts)
1. Over the shoulder
2. Extreme close up (ECU on some object, body part, etc.)
3. Close up (head and shoulders)
4. Birds Eye View
5. Worms eye View
6. Dutch Tilt
7. A shot that uses leading lines
8. Framing shot (a character is between two natural objects)
9. Point of View Shot (video from the “eyes” of the subject)
Have fun and remember to show those camera angles.

Audio Resources
Can't download your own music and sound effects? No problem...I've got you covered. Below are some great sound effects to use in a horror film. If you have a thumb drive or want to save files to your Google Drive, I will be logged into one computer so that you can download the perfect sound for your movie using my login credentials. Note - the files below should be good for most movies so I wouldn't spend a lot of time searching for the perfect sound.
