Premiere Pro Basics
Creative Thinking Exercise
1. What story do the photos below tell?
2. Describe what happens next in the story.
3. If you changed the order (mixed up the numbers or looked at the sequence backwards), what story would you be able to come up with?
4. Tell a story from a different perspective other than the main character. For example, from the door or knives perspective.
5. What type of angles are depicted in the story? How do the images and angles help tell the story?

Intro to the Pro!
Before we move onto a major video project, let's take a minute to introduce ourselves to Premiere Pro. I will do a demonstration in class and let you see the video below so that you know how to do the bare minimum with this very powerful tool. Just follow the steps below and you will be well on your way to creating some cool videos!
So What Do I Do With This Awesome Software?
To familiarize ourselves with the layout and functionality of Premiere Pro, we will do the following exercise.
1. Save 6-8 pictures online to your One Drive.
2. Open PP and import the pictures (File-Import)
3. Place the pictures in order so that they tell a story WITHOUT TYPING ANY WORDS (Just drag the pictures onto the timeline)
4. Add a title at the beginning of the video (that doesn't give away the plot) - File- New-Legacy Title. No need to save after typing the title. It autosaves.
5. Add a "dip to black" at the end of the video. (Click Effect tab then type Dip to Black. Drag the Dip to Black effect onto the last frame.)
6. Save the video as an mp4 - NOT AS A PREMIERE PRO PROJECT (File-Export-Media)
7. Upload the mp4 to Canvas.
